Ssgt. Matthew Trim was a special operator in the U.S. Air Force. He joined the military after high school and never looked back. Matt had an unmatchable work ethic, which led him to rise quickly in rank. He was devoted to his team and had an infectious positivity. His crew would say they didn’t want anyone else watching their backs.

While being a special operator was a large part of who Matt was, Matt was much more than that. He was an avid reader and had a joy for learning. He was a hard exterior with a gigantic heart, and his contagious laugh made him the life of the party. Most importantly to him, he was a father of three children, and he was dedicated to being the best dad possible. He strove to create a family that was giving and compassionate to others.

Matt used to say, “The most important word in an operator’s vocabulary is ‘hope,’ and sometimes, hope is enough.” While he was a highly successful combat veteran, he left his mark on the world through his laughter, optimism, endurance and strength. No failure would break his spirit. His spirit lives on in hope - and hope is enough.

100% of gifts designated for the Matthew Alan Trim memorial fund will go directly to Matt’s three wonderful children. Matt may be gone, but his family remains. Consider donating today.
