LTC. Dave Irwin, MA, LLPC
Dave comes to the Jesse-Brower Foundation with a variety of experiences. As a retired Military Infantry Officer, he knows the rigors of combat first hand, as well as its after effects. He knows what it’s like to come back to a different place called “home”, where nothing is the same as it was when you left, and not many understand what you are going thru, not even yourself.
After returning from Vietnam, Dave used the GI Bill to complete a degree in education, and became a teacher. After 7 years in education, the Michigan National Guard asked Dave to join, in an active Army status to help develop their readiness levels. Dave served on an active duty status with the Michigan National Guard until his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel. He then returned to public education as a Principal to serve inner city youth. Retiring from public education, Dave enrolled in the Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and obtained a degree and license in Christian Counseling. During his counseling training he served an internship at the Vet’s Center, gaining valuable experience in the variety of needs that Veterans have. As a counselor Dave founded Waters Edge Counseling to work primarily with churches to focus on helping couples fight for their marriages. In recent years Dave and his business partner founded “The Center for Lean Learning” to help companies operationally improve their practices for success through leadership and sound Lean principles.
